GLOBAL CITIZEN
Young Artists Collective
project overview:
Role: program direction
& art direction/design
I established Global Citizen’s Young Artists Collective program in early 2023. This initiative is program for young public school art students to showcase their talent and help drive awareness and action-taking on the world’s most pressing issues.
SPRING 2024 - "THE POWER OF VOICE VOTING IN DEMOCRACY"
ARTISTS AND THEIR WORK: We engaged over 50 student graphic designers from public universities across the country. They designed posters focused on voting, its crucial role in shaping democratic societies, and art's profound influence as a catalyst for change. Participating students had 5 weeks to complete the project with mentorship and support from professional graphic designers, including Judy Su and Matthew Ipcar of Blue State, who specialize in political design and activism. To further enhance the program, we also offered an educational workshop with HeadCount, which discussed the history and statistics of voting and the best ways to promote participation in democracy. The exhibition at Global Citizen NOW featured 26 posters and a program spotlight segment hosted by Jordan Fisher. VIP and executive guests received limited edition Young Artist Collective books featuring all the works from the installation. Our partner, Aéropostale, sponsored the Young Artist Collective, whose brand was prominently featured on all the program assets at NOW.

SUMMER SESSION - "Equity & Its Effects on Today's World"
ARTISTS AND THEIR WORK: Participating students were assigned to capture their perspectives or experiences on the theme of "Equity and Its Effects on Today's World" through photography, using their personal and creative styles. The objective of these final works is to motivate viewers to engage in actions promoting equity.

SPRING 2023 - "THE IMPACT OF THE CLIMATE CRISIS ON EXTREME POVERTY"
ARTISTS AND THEIR WORK: Assets created for Global Citizen's platforms and for students and universities to share on their social media.
EXHIBITION: The exhibition took place in April of 2023 and was a part of Global Citizen NOW action summit (gathering to drive impact on the most urgent issues facing our world), where the main guests included: Prime Minister Trudeau • President Macron • President von der Leyen • Prime Minister Mottley • Hugh Jackman • Chris Martin • John Legend • Katie Holmes • Gayle King and many more.

CALL TO ACTION VIDEO: The participants talk about their art and how it can inspire people to make a change and drive action-taking.
